BTL 2023 is an event that aims to promote tourism in Portugal, but also highlights the challenges and opportunities in the sector. According to the fair’s organizers, the last edition in 2022 received over 45,000 visitors, including professionals and the general public, with more business deals being made than in previous editions.
However, BTL 2023 should also be a space for reflection and debate on issues affecting tourism, such as sustainability, innovation, and territorial valorization. In this sense, it is important to recognize the role of inter-municipal communities in promoting regional tourism.
An example of this is the Viseu Dão Lafões inter-municipal community, which will be present at BTL 2023 with a diverse and integrated range of tourist products and services. This community is made up of 14 municipalities that share a unique cultural, historical, and landscape identity.
The Viseu Dão Lafões inter-municipal community invests in wine tourism, gastronomy, crafts, nature, and heritage as differentiating factors of its tourist offer. In addition, it develops environmental protection and prevention of rural fires projects, contributing to the preservation of the region’s natural resources.
BTL 2023 is an opportunity to get to know this inter-municipal community better and other sustainable tourism initiatives in Portugal. It is also an occasion to enjoy the culture and gastronomy of the different destinations present at the fair. BTL 2023 is an event that celebrates tourism in Portugal!
